Wow, what an experience! My dad who is a Vietnam Vet and a retired Master Sgt from the Air Force had never been to a professional hockey game. Growing up he would take me to see the minor league games at our local clubs arena and even travel to some games in the state rooting for the AHL Penguins. I saw the tickets come available & given that Newark is closer to us than Pittsburgh, I jumped at the opportunity. I surprised him the day of with the news of the game. My dad is a 3 time cancer survivor!! Yes, 3 times he's had cancer and been thru chemo & been cleared by the biopsy. He's the strongest person I know. Anyway, he's lost some mobility getting up and down steps, so when we got there I brought this to the attention of the ticket office with a man named Christopher and explained our predicament and he gladly moved our seats to a lower section right off the concourse on the one end of the arena where the Penguins would be on offense twice during the game (incredible). Needless to say, the game was a dream come true for both my dad and I. The Penguins won & we smiled and talked about the game all the way home. Thank you so much to the donors at Vet Tix as this could of never happened without your support and generosity. God Bless You, you made our dream come true of seeing our favorite hockey team play live.
